Easter Seals Camp Woodeden Corporate Camp Day

On July 7th, Shelley, Myself and a number of other agents from our Century 21` office had the pleasure of being invited to Camp Woodeden to see the kids we help send to camp in action. The camp itself is incredible. Overlooking the Thames River on the outskirts of London, Easter Seals Camp Woodeden is 107 acres of landscaped grounds and was originally known as “Woodholm,” Easter Seals acquired the property in 1946 to create a camp in southwestern Ontario for Easter Seals kids.

Camp Woodeden currently has an outdoor amphitheatre, outdoor swimming pool, high ropes course (North America’s only fully accessible one), outdoor pavilion and a fully accessible tree house. In 2011, a new gym, accessible climbing wall and life skills kitchen was open.
The camp offers programs such as swimming, arts and crafts, pottery, music, drama, life skills and sports such as sledge hockey, archery, wheelchair basketball, lacrosse, badminton, a nature trail with Yurts for overnight sleep-outs and a fully accessible high ropes challenge course.
At Easter Seals Camp Woodeden, campers expand their leadership abilities through a many creative arts programs and sport activities. During the summer, the camp offers two 10-day individual camp sessions, one six-day Gear-up program, a 5 day Discovery Camp and two five day Family Camps.
The camp is run by a staff of 58, which includes a team of 3 registered nurses and 2 health care assistants. These people are amazing and deserve recognition, while the kids are the true heroes, these folks are not far behind, such hard work and dedication is put forth by these people.
Witnessing this facility first hand was a fantastic experience.
Shelley and I are looking forward to volunteering more with Easter Sealsand visiting the camp next year!
